Confirm there are not already settings or features that do what the shop is asking for.
  • Currently, the system only allows shops to manually block a customer or enable the "ignore sold comment" feature (preventing live-stream purchases). However, we lack a granular restriction tier. There is no existing setting that restricts a customer's ability to buy while still preserving their frontend account access.
What does the shop want the product to do?
The shop wants the ability to "freeze" a customer account. This feature should:
Restrict Purchasing: Completely disable the customer's ability to place new orders or checkout across all channels (Web, App, and Live).
Retain Access: Allow the restricted customer to still log in, browse the website or app, and view their past order history.
Why/how would it improve sales or efficiency?
Customer Service Efficiency: Reduces friction and disputes. When a customer is entirely blocked, they often lose access to their order history, leading to an influx of support tickets asking for past invoices or tracking details.
Fraud & Risk Management: Allows shops to safely mitigate risk from problematic buyers (e.g., serial returners, payment disputes) without completely cutting off their access to historical data, keeping the shop compliant and organized.
Retained Engagement: The customer can still surf the app or site, meaning if their restriction is temporary or resolved, their user journey is not entirely broken.
