Shop would like to be able to apply the gift card value directly do a customers account. This will be useful for when customers have a hard time redeeming the gift card on their own. Shop would like to be able to apply it in admin and that credit adds as payment credit.

Currently, there isn't a way to do this. You can only manually add store credit.
