Confirm there are not already settings or features that do what the shop is asking for.
  • Yes, there are not any setting for it currently. Shop want to know as why the deleted product variant is still showing if they search the product SKU in the product catalog page, and see the product inventory just from that page, it will show the total count of all the products variants on it. So, as the product variants are already deleted so they should not show there.
  • Shop also reported that if the deleted variants are showing up when they are printing the tags for them. As the product variants is already deleted so it should not show up there.
  • Shop also reported that if in the inventory section of the product if we update the the quantity for the product using replace all at once then it is also updating the same product quantity for the deleted variants also.
  • As the archiving/ deleting is a newer function, so it still does not have this feature to hide the inventory count of the product if we search the product on the products catalog page. And the same with the Product tag being printed.
What does the shop want the product to do?
  • Shop want to make sure, if the product is searched in the product catalog page, the product should not show the deleted product inventory count in the total inventory count and it should not be visible there.
  • Shop want to make sure, if the product tags are printed the deleted variants tag should not be printed.
  • Shop want to make sure, if the product variant is already deleted, and if they update the product inventory count using the replace all feature which comes up after openign the product details in the inventory section. It should not update the quantity for deleted product variants.
Why/how would it improve sales or efficiency?
  • It would be helpful in clarifying and managing correct inventory count.
  • If this feature request is applied/created, it will help shop in making sure they are only updating the quantity for the available variants not the deleted one.
