I am a new business and just issued my first refund because someone accidently placed the same order twice...and realized that the 5% commission taken out by CommentSold was not refunded. I was shocked to come here and see that this request was actually made back in 2018, and reading through the comments it said this was planned back then. Wondering if there is any progress on this?

We just realized this was happening and were added to this change log. Seems to have been an issue that was brought up in 2018 and still not resolved. I understand the % that is taken from credit card charges. It is what it is, but the % that is commission paid to CS needs to be refunded. If we sell a top and return the money to a customer for any reason (damage, wrong size, etc) then sell it to a second customer we pay double commission to CS for this. Any other vendor who works on a commission base only charges for the actual amount and takes returns into account. I see this as a major liability that needs to be addressed asap. Brandon, the idea of how to remedy this in 2018 would suffice. Can we get this rolling? Thank you!!! You guys are awesome to work with and I know super busy, but this issue is super imortant.

Anitra Mitchell: my understanding is that this is not going to be changed.

Patrick Golimowski: My My account rep said it was in the works, but unsure of the final outcome as it had not been announced. Do you work for CS or waiting to hear like me?

I see you commented earlier so you're waiting, too.

Anitra Mitchell: last time i complained about this i was told that stripe, paypal and others do it like this so they had no plans on changing it. I was not thrilled.

Patrick Golimowski: I was told the same, but respnded that they are a fee based business where the CS 3% is a commission based business so those are two different things. I work with other commission based businesses, only pay what is actually sold and get a refund for any sell that does not go through.

Is this still like that? I have never heard of anything like this.

Patrick Golimowski: yes!

5% is a lot! especially when it comes out of your own pocket on a refund. Is that even legal? how can they charge you 5% of something you didn't make money on or was returned? that money should also be returned at the same time, correct?
