Michael Spiceland: Michael, anyway to get a button to fulfill orders after we’ve printed the bulk packing slips? I printed the bulk packing slips, clicked the button that said mark as label printed but then in order to fulfill I’ve had to do it one by one. A one click button would be fabulous
Michael Spiceland
Stephanie Kelly: After you print the bulk packing slips, what is your process today for printing shipping labels?
S
Stephanie Kelly
Michael Spiceland: I use PayPal for shipping, so I go into PayPal to process the postage

This is now available in beta! If you'd like to give it a try, please contact support or your AS and they can turn it on for you. We hope this is valuable for you and look forward to your feedback. This does not yet have combined orders.
The documentation for it is here:

Michael Spiceland: yes!! I would love to beta test!
Michael Spiceland
Stephanie Kelly: Awesome! You've been added. You should now see "Enable Bulk Printing of Packing Slips" that you can turn on under Setup -> Shipping.
Let me know what you think!

Michael Spiceland: worked perfectly! Absolutely love this! 33 orders printed in a flash! Saved me a ton of time!

Michael Spiceland: FEEDBACK on bulk print-Packing-Slips...
Love the new feature.... EXCEPT for the fact that I have no option but to print EVERY order in the "Processing" tab. Almost always, I have some orders sitting in "Processing", that have already been printed, and are simply waiting on fulfillment. But re-printing the packing slip will ultimately cause duplicate fulfillment, etc. My solution thus far has been to print my packing slips from the "Paid" tab (manually one at a time), and then move them to the "Processing" tab once they were printed. This was my line of delineation. I would love to do it the suggested way, of first moving to processing and then printing packing slips with this new feature... but it will reprint every order....including orders that have already been printed but are not yet shipped for varying reasons.
The solution as I see it would be to be able to select which orders are needing bulk-packing-slip-printing. a "Select all" option, and the ability to select/unselect individual orders. In this way, I can print in bulk only the orders that I need to print packing slips for.
Michael Spiceland
Kennith Rogers: At what point in your process do you print shipping labels?
If you are printing them as you process them from the packing slips, what if you marked them as label printed? That would move them from "processing" to "printed" so that processing could again be your queue for ones to print the packling lists for.

Michael Spiceland: I fulfill through ShipStation currently, Although I am trying to get setup to fulfill through CS.
As it is, the first thing I do is open the “paid” tab, and manually open each packing slip, and print them all. Then I hit “Process All”, to move them into processing. (Ensuring that i i didn’t miss any)
I haven’t used the “mark as printed” function since I lost track of several orders in that status 😬
But again, I hope to begin fulfilling with CS once I get my barcoding set-up.

Taking this one step further, it would be great to print the packing slip list as a list,(smaller), so it could be used in fulfillment and then if desired, print the single page packing slips to put inside the shipment.

To have the ability to print packing slips without Labels being processed.

in progress
We're starting work on this. I wanted to give a quick summary of our first version we're planning to get any feedback you have!
We'll add a toggle to let you switch from the normal bulk shipping label printing mode to bulk packing slip mode. In bulk packing slip mode, you'll have a Print Packing Slips instead of Print Shipping Labels.
In this mode, we are thinking that we wouldn't support "Combine orders into the same shipment", at least not to start with. This is the feature that groups orders together to the same shipping address.
In this mode, you can still fulfill by barcode, but you would need to print the shipping label first. We have a new barcode based fulfillment tab coming out very soon. This new fulfillment would display an error if you didn't yet buy a shipping label for the order. If you scan the order on the Orders tab we'd bring up the order and the print label screen. You could also manually fulfill orders also.

Michael Spiceland: glad to see this being worked on. Just want to give some feedback that even with this update it would not work for the issues that are forcing me to ship outside of CS.
Combining orders is critical. I usually have customers with 2-6 orders when we go to ship. So being able to combined orders, print packing slips, pull orders and verify by barcode fulfillment THEN print shipping label (one at a time not in bulk) would be the system needed. This is how it’s done in ShipStation except we cannot fulfill by barcode which adds a tremendous amount of time to our current process as we have to manually double check every single order.
I know my system may be backwards from others but my boutique is mostly not clothes. I sell things of all shapes, sizes and weight so packing is absolutely necessary before printing a shipping label. I also cannot just pack in a plain box and ship by weight because I am in CA shipping mostly to east coast and by weight is extremely expensive as opposed to regional and flat rate boxes/mailers.
Hope this helps, just wanted to explain what I would need to be able to utilize the shipping which I would love to do.

Michael Spiceland: excited to see it released! 😍 hoping that it saves me a good bit of time! Although, I hope that “combined” shipments comes out soon also... its frustrating that ShipStation doesn’t sync correctly with CS when orders are combined or split! Manual fulfillment is the only way I’ve found to do it, and even then, there’s no record in CS of the tracking number for the order...

Michael Spiceland: In addition to valuable input from others, how about one more button to print a Master Picking List for all items selected.. maybe filtered by PAID orders. Often find ourselves grabbing product from another location and do not want to take lot lots of individual packing lists. A simple master pick list of all product could be more easily pulled, and then later allotted to individual packing lists at the shipping location.

Michael Spiceland: how close is this to being ready. Printing packing slips one by one leaves so much room for missing an order. Thanks!
Michael Spiceland
Amy Cseh: It is very possible it will be ready to beta test next week! As soon as it is, I will post a link here :-)

I know that you already have a few responses to this, But I'll add mine anyway. :)
I've not yet found a way to make shipping directly through CS a reality for me, mainly because of the varying size of items shipped makes it difficult to determine packaging before the items are pulled. (As similarly mentioned by others)
Instead, I sync with ShipStation, and print directly from there, merging orders, or splitting appropriately. But I still come to CS each time to ship, and manually click on each order's Packing Slip link to print them one at a time. Not a problem when there are only a few orders... but my boutique is quickly growing, and I foresee this process taking quite a while very soon! ha! (truly a good problem to have, I know!)
But as stated by the OP, it would be super-swell to have the ability to print all paid orders' Packing-Slips before marking them as "Processing". Thanks for such a great platform! :)

Lindsey Kester Hodges,
I'd love to learn more information of how you image this would work and what this will solve for you.
Could you give me more detail on what you would like? It sounds like you want to be able to print packing slips separate from the shipping labels. What will this solve for you?
I'm guessing that this is so that you can start the picking process separately from having to purchase it. Is this correct? How do you wish it would work? If they were separate, do you have an idea in mind for when and how you'd want to purchase the shipping labels and associate them with the packing slips?
I'm looking for the same information on another related Canny and want to make sure I understand the problem to solve for you :-)

Michael Spiceland: I'm going to respond to this as this is a HUGE must for me to be able to utilize CS shipping. My boutique offers all types of items from purses, makeup, skincare, soap, jewelry, shoes, clothing. Because of the huge range of items it is impossible for me to determine the shipping label before pulling and packing. I am in CA and shipping mostly to East Coast which shipping strictly by weight is impossible because of costs. I use a ton of Flat Rate and Regional Boxes. The best priced shipping option cannot be determined prior to the order being pulled because size of product and total number of products matter more than the actual weight of the order.
What I need is the ability to combined all pending orders, print a packing slip so the order can be pulled and prepped then come back to print the label once the proper shipping box has been determined. We sell more of the "other items" then clothes so its not as easy as tossing in a polymailer with a label. I ship tons of fragile items as well.
I currently use Ship Station. I am able to combined all orders first, print packing slips then one by one come back and print the proper label for that particular order.

Michael Spiceland: for me this would be great because. Some items we have in stock and some we have to order and have shipped straight from other manufacturers or we have multiple items going to the same customer and to be able to sort packing slips in the shop on what items we have and what needs to be ordered with the packing slips would be great . At the current time clicking on each packing slip one at a time and having to print them is very time consuming. This feature would be helpful for multiple reasons for many people .

LeAnne Thompson: hey Ben message into support I believe we can currently help with all of these things. You can use uncheck the box for recieved so items not in stock wouldn't move to processing, you can then enable the option to auto-split those off. Then you can use the process all option to combine packing slips for the same customer. If questions message into support or inbox me on fb
